I am consistently bad at updating...

Here are a few pictures from our Halloween performance, courtesy of M.C. Photography:

Is it really November already?

Hé hé mes amis!
I know I promised pics from Nouveau Brunswick (and i have TONS), but the Congrès is really kicking into full action here --yesterday was the Fête des Acadiens-- so I'll have to save that for when I get back.

For now....

June

As you can see in these pictures, I pretty much spent the entire month of June in Monroe...

view from Bale's Landing (damn good crawfish!!) of the bridge going over the Ouachita River, separating Monroe and West Monroe

The love of my life, my bestie...sneakily drinking a beer out of a Texaco cup on the river...
We went to Antique Alley that day:

We also blew a lot of bubbles, listened to The Used and screamed along, and attempted to make a Spacemaker bookmark (if you don't know about this phenomena, see here) at a much faster than normal rate by leaving it in the car in the hot sun. It didn't work. Basically it needs 24 hours to dry in a cool, level area. When sun is added it becomes toxic.

I made these clown cones at the 50's diner where I work over the summer, but the freezer broke and their ice cream faces melted, leaving them looking disgusting.

Tess and I were walking home from Pickle Barrel one day and this fish was dead on the levee. She thought it was disgusting, but I thought it was kind of cool (we also saw a fox! with a veeeeery long nose)

I did make a trip down to Baton Rouge/Lafayette for Prom Date's show/a gig with the Habibiiiiiz

This is André wearing my costume.

This is me wearing my costume (it was a Midsummer Night's Dream party on the Summer Solstice at the Bechet House and we were hired to dance dressed as faeries)

This is my lovely playing the Bechet House's piano, wearing a lamb mask that I 'borrowed' from someone after a few too many Jager shots...

And back to Monroe...

a lot downtown. They started doing an outside movie night the last Saturday of every month. We watched Back to the Future. When did Monroe get hip??

So that's it.....
I'll put up some headshots I took for the soon-to-come Habibi Bizarre website:

That's the one we used.

There were approximately a thousand more, but these are some of the ones I narrowed it down to.

Now that I've caught up, I'll post pics from New Brunswick soon!
Cheers,
E

May!

Okay!
So...

Little Houses premiered in Crowley on the 2nd...it was awesome! So many people turned up

Zach and Jeremy Broussard --they guys who made the film. Aren't they adorable?

And the Lost Bayou Ramblers played at the after-party....I'm just kind of following them around...

The bottom three pics were taken from a link on the Little Houses Blog

went to New Orleans for Jazzfest on my birthday weekend, but....not too many pictures from that...

The people in the office where I worked threw me a birthday/graduation party...mmmm

more food!

a pretty dinner I cooked...
starfruit and edible flowers :) :) :)

went out to Lake Martin with some friends...

(your typical Louisiana sunset on the cypresses shot)

and to a farm out past Maurice

that's a 2-day old baby goat!

I wanted to hold him forever...

a very pregnant miniature horse

donkies

and llamas!!

then i graduated...

wtf?!

I was the only French major out there, so fortunately Leo (who graduated in Spanish) was sitting next to me, otherwise I would have been really bored....

June soon to come!

seeing that i'm done with my translating work (I'm actually Erin vs. Pokemouche-Shippagan right now...working as an intern up in Nouveau Brunswick, Canada, for the next couple of months), I've got uh...not much to do. So here's April, in review --gotta catch up!

tea party...somewhere in Lafayette?? I don't remember...

those good lookin' Frères Michot étaient là...

then Festival....

We danced on the Main Stage with Tarace Boulba. This is Robin, Dona and Hayley waiting behind the scenes. We pretty much used up all our energy squealing and doing the Roger Rabbit backstage, but I think we rocked it pretty hard when our time came...

a shot from behind the scrim...

This is my very favorite tree in Lafayette, by the way...which is nextdoor to my favorite house in Lafayette...

And these are the giant vines hanging off what very well might be my favorite tree in Grand Coteau.

Lauren's birthday!

I want to marry her....

And these are my favorite boys in Lafayette...

We filmed a sort of "moving photo"-thing...All of us from the Culture of Man class got together, set up a video camera, and let it roll while we basically did what we do....the guys are going to hook it up to a laptop screen and frame it in the Honor's Lounge --no sound, an hour of us frozen in time

Patty-Cakes!...so fly

Alyx dancing in my giant skirt...

Fin!

you might go a little coconuts

and start building a fort...

and if you have TWO hotel rooms' worth of furnishings, you can create a deluxe fort complete with chapel/sleeping room and a reading room:

and then next morning, when thomas is very hung-over....

texas...

muuuch better.
sha you know we put da islands in there

at the museum...

i have a thing for sculpture gardens but the one in new orleans is much more magical...

Mardi Gras out in Basile, Louisiana

même 'dis truck est un cajun!

The ladies' run of Tee Mamou, Louisiana...taking a break at a gas station to chase some chickens, hang out on a roof, whatever.
